Innovation, use of new technology needed in education: CM Dhami

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami handed over appointment letters to 236 newly recruited primary school teachers in a programme organised at the Education Directorate on Friday. The Education department had recently recruited 473 primary school teachers after the first phase of counselling. The appointment letters to remaining teachers will be given in their respective districts.
Congratulating the newly appointed teachers, the CM said that the teachers play an important role in society and the responsibility of building the future of children rests on their shoulders. With good education, a child proves to be a valuable asset for the country and society, he said.
He said that continuous efforts are being made to improve the quality of education in the state. The CM directed the officers that a proposal for the required funds for the repair of school buildings in poor condition should be sent to the State administration soon.
Dhami said that use of new technology and innovation are consistently increasing in the field of education and expressed hope that the newly selected teachers will undertake innovative measures in teaching. He said that smart classes, e-learning and digital education have become an important part of education and it should be ensured that teaching is not limited only to the curriculum.
The CM averred that recognising the talent of children is necessary and it is important to prepare children on the basis of their talents.
Speaking on the occasion the education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the process of counselling for 2,906 posts in primary education is in progress. He said that the department has decided that the schools having more than ten students will have two teachers. Similarly, three teachers will be deployed in the schools having more than 40 students. The schools having 70 and 100 students will have four and five teachers respectively. The minister said that more than six thousand teachers were transferred this year in a transparent manner as per the transfer policy. He said that the counselling of teachers was done for transfer due to which teachers are happy. Secretary of School Education Ravinath Raman, additional secretary Ranjana Rajguru, director general of School Education Banshidhar Tiwari and other officers were present on the occasion.
