Under the aegis of THDC India Limited, the third edition of Tehri Water Sports Cup 2024 commenced at Tehri Lake in Tehri district on December 10. The State Sports and Youth Welfare minister Rekha Arya inaugurated it and highlighted the role of sports in healthy living. She also appreciated THDCIL for its commitment to promoting sports through sporting initiatives. She also laid stress on adventure sports enhancing the State’s tourism and creating new opportunities for the State’s youth.
The chairman and managing director, THDCIL, R K Vishnoi said that THDCIL believed in the transformative power of sports to shape individuals and communities, adding that they not just offered athletes a platform to showcase their prowess but also contributed to the overall development of the region.
The director (Personnel) THDCIL Shallinder Singh underscored the importance of nurturing young talent and promoting sportsmanship, adding that Tehri Lake is rapidly emerging as a premier hub for water sports in India.
