The six-day Charakayatan training programme organised under the AYUSH ministry for Ayurveda teachers, graduates and post graduates of Ayurveda concluded at the Patanjali Ayurved College here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the University of Patanjali vice chancellor Acharya Balkrishna said that the main aim of Charakayatan was to inform students about the certified knowledge of Charak Samhita and get them acquainted with its relevance in practice. He said that those who are connected to Ayurveda are fortunate, adding that it is not merely a source of livelihood but a much higher call.
“Ayurveda should reflect in one’s behaviour, actions and temperament. One should not hesitate in calling oneself a Vaid. One should take pride in being a Vaid especially as the reach of Ayurveda is expansive. Allopathic synthetic medicines are dependent on chemicals and these require a lot of resources. On the other hand, Ayurvedic medicines are based on herbs, barks, stems, leaves and herbal concoctions which are life- giving. However, first of all, you should have faith in yourself and in Ayurveda,” Balkrishna said.
Noted Vaid SK Khandel said that Patanjali has developed into a leading institution when it comes to Ayurveda and Yoga on the global platform. This institution has presented Ayurveda along with scientific evidence in front of the international community while also teaching the public to lead a healthful life with Ayurveda, he said.
