The Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that the policy of zero tolerance for corruption adopted by the State government under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is commendable. The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt averred that the action being taken against those accused of corruption is historic.

Following Dhami’s order to suspend the Home Guards director with immediate effect for an alleged uniform scam, Bhatt said that the State government has shown moral courage in all the cases of corruption which have come to light so far. The government has not spared the influential persons. The action taken in the case of the Home Guards director was expected as influential persons were also sent to jail for irregularities in recruitment. “More than 250 persons are in jail and the message this has sent to the public is that anybody guilty of wrongdoing will not be spared, irrespective of his or her position,” he said.

The BJP State president further claimed that the BJP is fulfilling all its promises to the public. He said that the government is organising UCC Day on January 27 after a year of the code’s successful implementation.
