Congress inducting expelled BJP leaders indication of another electoral win in 2027 for BJP: Bhatt

Rejecting claims that its former leaders joining the Congress would benefit the opposition, the Bharatiya Janata Party said that this is actually an indication that the BJP will win the Assembly elections in 2027. Interacting with media persons, the BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the former MLAs and a former mayor had been expelled from the BJP for gross indiscipline and not following the party line. They are no longer a part of the BJP and are free to try their luck in the Congress in the hope of contesting the election on the Congress ticket. Those expelled from the BJP cannot be considered the faces of the party anymore. However, the Congress should also think as to why these leaders were expelled from the BJP in the first place. “The Congress seems to take up leaders expelled by the BJP while it doesn’t even know when its leaders leave the Congress to join the BJP. These politicians joining the Congress will not have any effect on us. We are confident that the BJP will win the Vidhan Sabha elections in 2027,” he said.
Bhatt further said that the BJP’s membership campaign has been successful and that there are many leaders from other parties waiting to join the BJP. On the other hand, the Congress seems to be facing a shortage of its own candidates to field in the coming elections and is relying on those who were expelled from the BJP. “The Congress used to say that we lack leaders and are inducting its former leaders. Now the Congress itself is getting our expelled members to join it, which is a clear indication that the BJP will win the coming Assembly polls,” he said.
Regarding the recent cabinet expansion in Uttarakhand, Bhatt said that all the ministers have also been allocated charge of districts. The ministers will work based on the feedback of party workers and requirements of the local public to ensure development and resolution of public issues in the districts, the BJP State president said.
