PM appeal: DM walks down to Collectorate

Acting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to make the fuel save drive a full-blown mass movement, the district magistrate, Mayur Dixit walked to the Collectorate from his residence on Thursday. He appealed to all officers, employees and common people of the district to cooperate in saving fuel and electricity. “The officers and employees whose residences are close to their offices should arrive on foot or by using fuel-efficient means of transport,” he added.
DM further said that to reduce unnecessary fuel consumption, most of the meetings will be conducted virtually medium and the officials will be called to the meeting only if required.
He also instructed all departments to conserve electricity, saying that unnecessary lights and electrical equipment should not be used in offices. “Officers and employees have also been instructed to turn off lights, fans and other equipment when leaving their rooms,” he said.
The DM also appealed to the people of the district to play an active role in making the “Save Fuel” campaign a success.
