PANTNAGAR: A special programme was held at G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology to mark the 139th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant. The vice-chancellor, Shivendra Kumar Kashyap, along with the registrar, deans, directors, faculty, students, and staff, paid floral tributes to the leader’s statue.
Addressing the gathering, Kashyap said that Pandit Pant had played a key and pioneering role in the establishment of Pantnagar University in 1960. “Established under his vision and inspiration, the university continues to advance in the field of agricultural education, research, and extension,” he said, adding that the university would continue to meet the challenges of changing times, drawing inspiration from the ideals and core objectives of its founder.
On this occasion, the construction of a cow conservation centre to be spread over 65 acres of land in the Haldi region started.
