Covid-19 death toll climbs to 1351 in U’khand
10 deaths, 728 new cases reported on Saturday
The death toll from the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand mounted to 1351 in Uttarakhand on Saturday with the state health department registering 10 deaths. The department also reported 728 fresh cases of the disease on the day which increased the tally of the disease to 81939. The authorities discharged 435 patients from different hospitals on Saturday after their recovery. A total 73422 patients have so far recovered from the disease so far and the recovery percentage now stands at 89.61. Three patients of Covid-19 each were reported dead at GTR Base hospital Almora and the Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani on Saturday. Two patients succumbed to the disease at HNB Base hospital Srinagar while one patient each was declared dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun and Himalayan hospital Dehradun.
There seems to be no respite for the residents of Dehradun from the contagious Covid-19. The authorities reported 246 fresh cases of the disease from Dehradun on Saturday. Similarly 132 cases from Nainital, 72 from Haridwar, 41 from Almora, 37 from Pauri, 32 each from Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar, 28 from Chamoli, 26 each from Tehri and Uttarkashi, 25 from Rudraprayag, 21 from Bageshwar and 10 from Champawat were reported on Saturday.
The state now has 6207 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is maintaining its lead at top of the table of active cases with 1998 cases while with 737 active cases Nainital is at second spot. Haridwar is at third spot with 563 active cases. Pithoragarh has 433, Pauri 420, Almora 362, Chamoli 343, Tehri 310, Udham Singh Nagar 263, Uttarkashi 227, Bageshwar 197 and Champawat 185 active cases of the disease. With 169 active cases of Covid-19, Rudraprayag is at the bottom of the table.
