The Covid-curfew which was slated to end on May 25 has been extended till June 1. The State government took this decision on Monday on the directions of the chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat.
Cabinet minister and state government spokesman Subodh Uniyal informed that the Covid-curfew had been extended till June 1 with a few changes. Taking cognisance of the demand made by the traders’ fraternity, it was decided that instead of 7 AM to 10 AM, the shops allowed to open will open from 8 AM to 11 AM. Miltk, fruits and vegetables, meat and fish shops will be allowed to open during this time period. Further, ration and groceries shops will be allowed to open only on May 28 from 8 AM to 12 PM. Uniyal further said that though the Covid graph appears to be coming down in recent days, the government has maintained alertness and efforts to check the pandemic. The safety of the citizens is the first priority of the state government. Considering this, if there is a further drop in the Covid-19 cases in the future, relaxations will be provided to the public according to the conditions prevailing at that time, he said.
