Stating that none of the MLAs was able to mention five development works done by them in the past five years in Uttarakhand, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that these public representatives have done nothing worth mentioning for the public. The party said that MLAs of both Congress and BJP have just played with the sentiments of the public. Outside the residences and offices of MLAs across the state, the AAP workers demanded that they cite the works done by them.
The party members also protested outside the office of Doiwala MLA and former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. One of the party’s spokesmen Raju Maurya said that despite being a CM for over four years, Rawat failed to develop his own constituency. The public is still waiting for electricity in this area, averred Maurya. The party in charge of Rajpur Road constituency Dimple Singal said that AAP has already mentioned that they will question the MLAs about their development works in the past five years but none of them appeared before them to talk about their works.
The party workers also informed that some AAP workers were also arrested on Sunday in Devprayag when they were only demanding answers from the MLA. “Democracy has become a subject of mockery for this government. We will ask about their works as the public want to know about it too,” said AAP leader Ganesh Bhatt. The party leaders said that the MLAs have failed to mention their development projects and will have to face the consequences during the assembly elections next year.
