Under the directions of the Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority and the guidance of the District Legal Services Authority, Nainital, an awareness rally on the theme “Drug Addiction and Drug Abuse” was organised in Ramnagar on Sunday.

The rally commenced from the civil court premises and saw enthusiastic participation of National Cadet Corps cadets and students from various local schools. Holding placards with anti-drug messages, the students appealed to the public to stay away from drugs and contribute to building a healthy society.

Addressing the participants, civil judge (Junior Division) Meenakshi Dubey urged children to stay away from drug addiction, emphasising that it is the only way to achieve success and lead a meaningful life. She added, “Children are the future of our country, and they must remain free from the clutches of addiction to serve their families and society better.”

Speaking on the occasion, Adhikar Mitra Jeevan Chandra Satyawali advised the children to remain vigilant against the menace of drugs and report any suspicious activity related to drug use or trafficking by dialing 112.

After the address, Dubey flagged off the rally, which passed through various parts of the town, spreading the message of a drug-free society.
