Class X and XII exams: Pre-evaluation seminar held at UVSP

With preparations gaining pace for the Class X and Class XII exams commencing on March 27, a pre-evaluation seminar was held at the Uttarakhand Vidyalaya Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) in Ramnagar on Monday, chaired by the chairman of the board, Mukul Kumar Sati. The meeting was attended by chief education officers and chief controllers from all districts, as well as the principals (deputy controllers) and supervisors from all evaluation centres.
Speaking of the seminar, the secretary, UVSP, Vinod Prasad Simalti said that the seminar provided important instructions aimed at ensuring proper conduct of evaluations, focusing on training in evaluation techniques. He outlined the objectives of the duties of the chief controller, while the joint secretary, CP Raturi detailed the duties and responsibilities of the deputy controller. Further, the deputy secretary, Sushma Gaurav discussed the roles of supervisors and auditors in the evaluation.
This aside, the research officer, Shailendra Joshi and Nandan Singh Bisht provided an in-depth explanation of the step-by-step evaluation process, including the marking scheme, the assignment of marks, data entry and instructions for identifying and resolving evaluation errors.
It is important to note that the evaluation of written answer sheets for Class X and Class XII will take place from March 27 to April 10 under UVSP. A total of 29 evaluation centres have been set up across the State for this purpose. A total of 1,457 examiners, 160 deputy chief examiners and 320 auditors have been appointed for the high school (class x) evaluations, while 1,298 examiners, 143 deputy chief examiners, and 284 auditors have been designated for the intermediate evaluations (CLASS XII).
Importantly, the evaluation will be conducted under CCTV surveillance. Additionally, to ensure thorough evaluation, 50 per cent of the evaluated answer sheets will be checked at each centre. There will be tight Security arrangements at every evaluation centre.
