Girl and teenager arrested for killing her lover, two absconding

The Haridwar police have arrested a minor, her acquaintance and his accomplice for allegedly murdering her lover. The police were investigating a missing person’s case when the investigation revealed that the person reported missing had been murdered.
According to sources, a resident of Chandrapuri area under the Gangnahar police station lodged a police complaint on August 13 about his son Deepak Rawat (18) missing. The complainant stated that his son had gone from home on his motorcycle on August 10 and had not returned since then. According to the police, investigation revealed that Rawat was in a relationship with a 17-year-old girl residing in the Maktulpuri area. The two wanted to marry but this proposal was rejected by his family due to the girl being underage.
In the meanwhile, the girl befriended Ghaziabad resident Raja Sharma alias Sukhvinder. The duo got close and she told him aspects of her relationship and other developments to Sharma. He allegedly told her go get him to Muradnagar area. Sources said that she asked Rawat to drop her to a relative’s home and the accused and his two accomplices allegedly strangled him at 1 AM on August 10.
The murder was committed in the Chota Haridwar canal area of Muradnagar in Ghaziabad. The accused rode away on Rawat’s motorcycle after throwing his body in the canal. The police managed to recover the body in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh on August 15 based on information provided by the girl and an accused. The police arrested the minor and a accused Mohsin (18) while Sharma and another accused are absconding.
