CM trying to evade questions in the Vidhan Sabha: Godiyal

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun
Pradesh Congress Committee president Ganesh Godiyal has said that by not organising Vidhan Sabha sessions on Mondays, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is running away from the questions of the members in the house. Interacting with the media persons at the Congress Bhawan on Thursday, the PCC president said that the State government should convene the budget session of Vidhan Sabha for at least 30 days to ensure that the issues and questions of all the members of the house are taken up.
He said that it is unfortunate that in the last five years question hour is never held on Mondays in the Vidhan Sabha. Godiyal said that as per the convention, Monday is reserved for the questions related to the departments headed by CM. He said that this time too, the session is beginning on March 9 which is Monday but since the first session of the year is addressed by the governor, no other business will be done in the house. The session is ending on Friday which means that the questions related to the departments headed by CM will not be taken up in this session also.
Responding to a question on cabinet expansion, the PCC president said that the CM has made the cabinet expansion a tool of his political management. He said that more than 50 per cent of the berths in the State cabinet are empty and there are many contenders for them. Godiyal said that whenever there is some resentment within the ruling party, the talk of cabinet expansion is deliberately unleashed to silence the MLAs hoping to become ministers.
