The Bharatiya Janata Party State spokesman and Dharampur MLA Vinod Chamoli termed the allegations levelled by the Congress laughable. He said that the Congress did not corner the government in the Vidhan Sabha session. Instead, the Congress itself got exposed. The Congress will now also have to face the questions of the public, he said.
Responding to issues raised by the leader of opposition in the Vidhan Sabha, Yashpal Arya, the BJP leader said that the hope for deliberations on the questions of the public and the opposition playing a construction role during the budget session were shattered by the insensitive attitude of the opposition which also behaved in an irresponsible manner towards the public. The Congress appeared to be behaving in the same manner on the road and in the house while also breaking the seriousness of the house proceedings. During the governor’s address, the Congress gave priority to protest instead of discussion on development, he said.
Chamoli said, “Earlier, the Congress was expressing various apprehensions and levelling allegations regarding the duration of the Assembly session. However, all of their doubts proved to be baseless. In fact, the Congress was exposed while the proceedings of the house were historic. The Congress was facing a scarcity of questions while the government was in favour of running the house further. However, the house functions on the basis of business. The State is witnessing all-round development under the leadership of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The policy paralysis of the Congress era are now over. The government is making new policies and this is directly affecting the general public, whether it be competitive exams or more than forty new policies in tourism and other sectors. The State government is consistently taking stern action against those found guilty of corruption,” the BJP leader said.
Chamoli further said that the size of the budget has increased and this will certainly enable progress of various development schemes. The needs of all sections of society have been taken care of in the budget. “The Congress talks about the law and order situation but its allegations of deterioration and disinformation have been deflated many times. Dedicated officers are joining government services in the State due to the examinations free of malpractice. This is because chief minister Dhami brought the situation back on track with a strict anti-copying law. Various sectors including businesses like mining and liquor trade are now not under the control of the mafia and have become a source of the State’s economy. The Congress still has to answer the questions of the public and this will create a tough situation for it,” Chamoli added.
