Bharatiya Janata Party State spokesman Mathura Dutt Joshi has alleged that tickets were sold to candidates by the Congress in past Assembly elections in Uttarakhand, adding that the party will do the same for the coming polls.
Interacting with the media at the BJP State headquarters on Friday, Joshi who left the Congress to join the BJP last year, said that allegations of candidatures being sold by the Congress are not new. “There were charges of tickets being sold during the 2022 election and earlier too in both assembly polls and mayoral contests. Weren’t the tickets sold to candidates in Roorkee, Khanpur, Laksar, Lalkuan, Mussoorie, Kaladhungi and Pithoragarh? The Congress is currently not doing any exercise to strengthen the organisation but finding customers for the 2027 polls. You did not see any party in-charge active in the State during the past four years and now ahead of the polls they are trying to finalise whom they sell the tickets to,” he alleged.
