Kumaun University has secured 27th position in the country in the Government University category in India Today Ranking 2025. The senior officials of the university attributed this ranking to researches, infrastructure, student-friendly policies and academic collaboration with industry houses.
The volume of research publications has increased manifolds and over 30 courses have been updated in line with the National Education Policy 2020 while 12 departments have entered into research agreements with reputable national and international institutions. Along with this, facilities like digital learning, smart class rooms and e-library have been developed. Further, the students have been benefiting from employment-oriented and skill development programmes.
Sounding happy, the vice- chancellor, Diwan Singh Rawat said that this success is the result of the collective hard work of the Kumaun University fraternity. “Now, our target is to include it among the top 10 government universities of the country,” he added.
