Complete Jagra festival preparations in time: Maharaj to officers

The State’s Tourism, Religious Affairs and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj has directed the secretary Tourism, Dehradun district magistrate, SSP and SDM Chakrata about timely preparations of the Jagra festival slated at Mahasu Maharaj in Hanol and Chalda Maharaj in Dasu on August 26-27.
Also, he has written a letter to deputy chief minister and Transport minister of Himachal Pradesh, Mukesh Agnihotri, requesting him to ensure that Himachal Road Transport Corporation arrange adequate number of buses for the devotees from the State to come and attend the Jagra festival. He has suggested roadways bus services from Shimla to Hanol-Dasu, Nerua-Hanol-Dasu and Ponta-Hanol-Dasu to facilitate the devotees’ smooth movement.
While speaking to the senior administrative and police officials, the minister stressed on providing the devotees with smooth roads, round the clock health services and adequate volume of drinking water. This aside, he broached the issues of police arrangement for crowd control; parking and traffic control plan and arrangement of toilets. Besides, he asked the officers to declare holiday in the schools of Jaunsar Bawar and Uttarkashi region during the Jagra festival.
