Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that every citizen’s cooperation is necessary in achieving the aim of Viksit Bharat 2047 as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The CM said this while chairing a meeting to review various important infrastructure and development projects through the PRAGATI portal here on Monday. Dhami sought detailed information about 12 major projects worth Rs 6,940 crore related to transport, energy, public works, national highways, Border Roads Organisation and other departments.

He directed officials that in order to further expedite these projects, a monthly review will be held at the level while the chief secretary will review the progress every 10 days. In case of delay in the execution, the responsibility of the official responsible will be fixed and strict action will be taken as per the rules, he warned. The CM said that the projects in which more than 50 per cent of the work has been completed should be fully completed by October 15 this year. The State government’s priority is to complete all development projects within the set time frame. In case of projects which are being delayed due to factors like land transfer, forest clearance, land acquisition, payment of compensation or other administrative reasons, the departments concerned should work in a coordinated manner to find the solution.

The CM told officials that they should use the PRAGATI portal as an effective monitoring system to regularly review every project, adding that they should ensure the time bound redressal of pending cases. “Unnecessary delay in projects not only affects development works but also affects public interest and economic activities negatively,” Dhami said. The progress of work on projects including Ramnagar ISBT, Ranikhet bus terminal, Tadikhet depot and workshop, Banbasa and Rudraprayag electricity sub stations project, Char Dham road projects, Askot-Lipulekh road, Mana Pass road project and national highway projects in Haridwar and Kashipur regions was reviewed in the meeting. Referring to pending cases of land transfer, forest and environmental clearances, land acquisition and distribution of compensation, he directed the departments concerned to fix a clear time limit and work accordingly. The district magistrates were also directed to personally monitor cases pending at the district level and to ensure their swift redressal. “Projects related to the Char Dham Yatra, strategically important road projects in border areas, electricity infrastructure and transport facilities are very important for the State’s all round development and providing facilities to the public. Timely execution of such projects will boost tourism, business, investment and employment opportunities,” the CM said. He also directed the officials to fix the responsibility for each project and ensure regular monitoring, adding that special work plans should be made to ensure swift results in cases where the progress is less than expected. Principal secretaries RK Sudhanshu, R Meenakshi Sundaram, secretaries Brijesh Kumar Sant, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, additional secretaries Meharban Singh Bisht, Banshidhar Tiwari and departmental officials were also present in the meeting.
