FDA to undertake 15-day campaign against food adulteration

 The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has directed the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FDA) department to undertake an intensive fortnight long campaign against the food adulteration in the State. He gave the direction while chairing a virtual meeting of the department on Tuesday. The minister said that apart from taking the food samples the department should take up awareness activities during the campaign.

Rawat directed that stern measures should be taken to prevent adulteration on the Char Dham Yatra route and the department should organise seminars in collaboration with the traders and hoteliers. He asked the department to prepare a work plan for  the Char Dham Yatra.

The meeting was attended by secretary Sachin Kurve, director general health services Dr Sunita Tamta, director medical education Dr AK Arya, director Health Dr Shikha Jangpangi, nodal officer of Char Dham Dr Sujata, additional commissioner FDA Tajber Singh Jaggi, deputy commissioner FDA Ganesh Kandwal and others.
