Govt committed to protect dignity and rights of Divyangs : CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government is committed to protecting the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities. He directed officials to ensure that such persons should receive the full benefits of welfare programmes of the government.
The CM was addressing the meeting of Divyang Salahkar Board at the State secretariat on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the problems of Divyangs should be a top priority for the government and administration.
In the meeting, the CM directed the Health secretary to periodically organise special health camps for the Divyangs across the State. In these camps, Divyangs should be provided with treatment and medical facilities, as well as certificates, prosthetic limbs, and other assistive devices on the spot.
The CM said that during the recruitment process for various government services, Divyangs should be given full benefits as per the reservation provisions. He also directed that the Social Welfare department should ensure that all eligible persons covered under the disability pension or other social security schemes receive 100 per cent benefit from the schemes.
The CM directed the secretaries to seriously monitor work at the departmental level on issues related to the Divyangs and prioritize the effective implementation of schemes directly related to their interests. He said that the Divyangs are an integral part of society and the government is making every effort to empower them.
The CM was of the view that the problems of the Divyangs are not merely an administrative issue but also a humanitarian responsibility.
The MLAs and board members also gave several suggestions in the meeting.
MLAs Bharat Chaudhary and Savita Kapoor secretaries Sridhar Babu Addanki, Ranjit Sinha, Chandresh Kumar, V Shanmugam, R Rajesh Kumar and others attended the board meeting.
