A Mazar encroaching on the campus of the National Institute for Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD) was demolished on the diretions of the Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal on Saturday. The illegal religious structure was blocking a route on the campus. When this came to the knowledge of the DM, he directed legal action to remove the encroachment without delay.
According to officials, the Mazar was blocking a route in the prominent institution for persons with visual disabilities. The district administration had received information about encroachment on a park made for children on the institute campus. Bansal directed officials to take immediate action as per the procedure.
Following the instructions, city magistrate Pratyush Singh and sub divisional magistrate Hari Giri headed a team which demolished the encroachment. It is pertinent to mention here that on the directions of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the district administration is taking action against encroachments in areas across the district.
