A number of Congress activists from Lalkuan and Bindukhatta staged a sit-in at Lalkuan Tehsil on Friday, demanding an impartial inquiry into the embankments built at a cost of crores of rupees in Gaula river and then served a memorandum to the chief minister through the senior officials of the tehsil.
They alleged malpractices in the embankment construction work in Indiranagar and Rawat Nagar Bindukhatta, citing their damage during the recent rain spell. They said that things need a thorough investigation with public funds having been squandered away.
