Congress organises State-wide programmes on State foundation day

 Uttarakhand Congress organised programmes in important cities and towns of the State on the occasion of 25 years of foundation of Uttarakhand on Sunday.

 The Pradesh Congress Committee president Karan Mahara and former PCC president attended a programme at Rajiv Bhawan in Dehradun while former chief minister Harish Rawat took part in a programme in Har Ki Paidi in Haridwar. Former PCC president Ganesh Godiyal attended a programme at Gairsain while the leader of opposition in Vidhan Sabha Yashpal Arya and deputy leader of Congress legislature party Bhuwan Kapdi addressed a programme at Khatima, Udham Singh Nagar on the day.

In Dehradun, Mahara and Pritam Singh hoisted the national flag and cut a 25 pound cake. Speaking on the occasion the PCC president said that everyone should introspect on what the State has achieved in the past 25 years. He said that the Congress government led by former CM Narayan Dutt Tiwari laid the foundation of a strong State in 2002 but the BJP government of 2007 could not work forward on it. Mahara said that in its 15 years of rule the BJP has made Uttarakhand a factory of producing CMs. He said that the BJP government has brought shame to the State by illegal mining, paper leaks, recruitment scams and crime against women. Former PCC president Pritam Singh said that the people of the State will always remain indebted to the statehood martyrs who laid down their life for creation of the State.
