KU student polls: SP urges students to follow Lyngdoh Committee rules

A meeting was held in DSB campus of Kumaun University involving the police administration, campus administration and potential student union election candidates regarding the upcoming student union elections.

Speaking at the meeting, the SP City, Jagdish Chandra said that while participating in the elections, the students should strictly follow the Lyngdoh Committee rules. “We will extend full cooperation to the students, but will take stern actions if the rules are broken,” he warned. He further urged the students not to litter the campus and the town with posters and other promotional materials and asked them to bring their identity cards from the time the election notification is issued till the day of completion of the elections.

In the meeting, the campus’s dean, student welfare, Sanjay Pant informed the students about the rules of the Lyngdoh Committee. The meeting was conducted by the visiting professor, Lalit Tiwari.  

Among the police officers who attended the meeting were the kotwali’s in-charge inspector Hem Chandra Pant and Tallital police station’s SO Manoj Nayal.
