The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that helicopter services would start from Chinyalisaur and Gauchar airstrips soon under the direction of the army. “With Chardham Yatra beginning in April, our government has already started preparations to ensure that the pilgrims have a better experience,” he added. He further said that while the government plays the role of coordinator in the operation of the yatra the locals, priests, hoteliers and taxi/ maxi operators are the real stakeholders of the yatra.
He said this on Thursday while participating in the “Jan-Jan ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan ke Dwar” programme at Chinyalisaur development block complex. He met the villagers who gathered at the camp and heard out their problems. He also resolved many of these on the spot. Notably, a large number of villagers presented complaints related to drinking water, health, roads, revenue and certificates among others, prompting the chief minister to resolve as many as possible on the spot and instruct the officials present to take immediate action of the remaining ones.
The CM said that over 600 camps have been organised so far with the participation of over five lakh people. “More than 40,000 citizens have been provided direct benefits under various schemes,” he said, adding that the government’s intention is to ensure that people living in remote rural areas do not have to travel to district headquarters to resolve minor issues. “This is why these camps are being organised in villages, ensuring on-the-spot resolution of their problems,” he said.
On the local demand, the CM assured to include the up-gradation of the Chinyalisaur CHC and the college in the chief minister’s announcement to expedite implementation.
