Immediately after the Uttarakhand government issued a pre-Deepawali bonus order, the Rudrapur Municipal Corporation disbursed Diwali bonuses to its employees. Notably, as per the State government’s order, more than 250,000 employees were to receive a dearness allowance at the rate of 58 percent and bonuses were to be given to non-gazetted employees.
Following this order, the Rudrapur mayor Vikas Sharma initiated the bonus distribution process. Completing all the paperwork and necessary approvals in one hour, the Municipal Corporation issued bonus amounts of approximately Rs 6,900 per employee, which were transferred directly to their bank accounts.
Sharma said that the employees were the backbone of the corporation. “So it is our priority to keep them happy,” he added.
