As part of the preparations for Census-2027, the Uttarkashi district administration has intensified the arrangements and for the first time, the facility of ‘self-enumeration’ is being provided to the citizens.
The district magistrate and chief census officer Prashant Arya said that through this new system, citizens will now be able to enter their information on the online portal while sitting at home, which will make the census process more transparent, faster and accurate. This facility will be operational in the district from 10 to 24 April.
Notably, the first phase of the census, which includes house listing and housing enumeration, will be conducted in Uttarakhand between April 25 and May 24. During this period, appointed enumerators will go door-to-door to collect data, but before that, citizens can actively participate in this process by entering their information through the portal. The administration believes that the self-enumeration facility will not only save time but also ensure data accuracy.
