The Anti Narcotics Task Force of Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) arrested a 62-year-old man Bhagwan Das Kalra with 175.6 grammes of heroin in Kichha, Udham Singh Nagar district. The arrest was made during a joint operation with local police near the HP petrol pump opposite Mahindra Factory in Kichha late on Monday, the senior superintendent of police of STF Navneet Singh Bhullar said.

He informed that Kalra, a resident of Awas Vikas in Kichha, had been under STF surveillance for some time and he was known for his involvement in smuggling heroin in the Lalpur region. During interrogation, Kalra revealed that he sourced the heroin from two individuals, Aman from Lalpur and Savez alias Sameer from Darau. He intended to supply it to a person named Arjun in Haldwani when he was nabbed by the police.

Following the recovery, STF officials began investigating the suspect’s criminal background and the network he operated within. The force has identified several other names during questioning and further action will be taken against them, Bhullar said. He also urged the public to stay away from drug-related activities and report any such cases to the nearest police station or contact STF Uttarakhand at 0135-2656202 or 9412029536.
