Thespians enthrall with depiction of Rukmini Mangal

The Meghdoot Natya Sanstha staged Rukmini Mangal on the weekend- a depiction of Lord Krishna and Rukmini’s marriage, Ghantakarn’s penance in Badrinath and the birth of Pradyumna, a play written and directed by SP Mamgain.

The play shows Lord Krishna and Rukmini reaching Badrinath Dham to anoint Ghantakarn as the Kshetrapalof the area. The play was based on material taken from Shrimadbhagwat Puran, Shiv Puran, Harivansh Puran, Skand Puran and other sources.

The actors depicted interesting incidents during the play which kept the audience glued to their seats till the end. Agriculture minister Ganesh Joshi, MLAs Khajan Das, Savita Kapoor and others were also among those who viewed the play. Vijay Dabral played the role of Lord Shiva, Jahnavi Pande played the role of Goddess Parvati, Anil Dutt Sharma acted as Lord Krishna and Mitali Punetha played the role of Rukmini, along with other actors who performed in the play.
