Unemployed nursing graduates continue protest despite CM’s assurance

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun
Although chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has assured unemployed nursing graduates that their demands would be addressed soon, they have decided to continue their protest under the banner of Nursing Ekta Manch (NEM) until they receive a written resolution regarding their concerns. The unemployed nursing graduates have been protesting for several days at the designated protest site in Ekta Vihar with the protest continuing on Sunday as well.
President of the NEM Naval Pundir emphasised that their unresolved demands include the need for transparency in the recruitment process. They are advocating for selections to be based on the year-wise seniority of candidates who have completed their qualifying examinations. He added that apart from this there are various other demands which need to be addressed. Pundir said that they recently met with the CM, who listened attentively to their demands and assured them that positive action would be taken as soon as the proposal reaches the government level. He said that the CM has already made several important decisions in favour of the nursing cadre, fostering trust and hope among nursing personnel across the State.
After their face-to-face conversation with the CM, Pundir stated that all doubts had been cleared. Dhami has assured positive action on their demands within eight to ten days. Despite this timeframe, Pundir said that the protest would continue until a firm, written decision is made on their demands. He warned that if a solution to their issues is not reached soon, they will intensify their protest.
