Taking a serious note of illegal mining activities going in Laksar and Haridwar tehsil areas, the chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the Directorate of Geology and Mining, Uttarakhand to take immediate actions against the stone crushers engaged in illegal mining.
Subsequently, an enforcement team led by the director of the Directorate of Geology and Mining, Uttarakhand reached several villages under Laksar and Haridwar tehsils and on finding irregularities, sealed several stone crushers.
The officers of the directorate said that they would slap a fine of Rs 10 crore on the illegally operating stone crushers.
