The Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged that the Congress is unable to digest the enthusiasm of people for the Char Dham Yatra and is adopting tricks to hamper the pilgrimage. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the political protests in Joshimath and Mussoorie in the past and now the statements being made by some Congress leaders to mislead the State employees substantiate this allegation. Bhatt said that the people including State government employees need to work carefully for six months considering the Yatra and the monsoon. “How vigilance and care can help people stay safe even during a destructive cyclone was witnessed recently in the nation.
Considering this the State government has prohibited government employees from going on strike and protest to ensure a safe and successful Yatra. The pilgrimage has been going on safely so far this year and new records are being set. However, it seems as if Congress leaders are unable to digest this which is why they are using the employees as an excuse to level baseless allegations and incite them. Earlier, they had spread rumours about Joshimath and attempted to stop pilgrims and tourists. During the peak of the Yatra season, their senior leaders had staged a protest in Mussoorie to hamper the Yatra,” alleged Bhatt.
The BJP State president alleged that the Congress does not want a safe and successful Char Dham Yatra. However, the State government is committed to ensuring a safe and successful pilgrimage. The Congress should play the role of a responsible opposition, Bhatt added.
