Weather warning issued again as lull in rain continues in parts of State

Light to moderate rain was reported in some parts of the State on Sunday though many parts witnessed a dry day with the lull in rainfall activity continuing. Meanwhile, the State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Nainital and Champawat districts on Monday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Bageshwar and Champawat districts and at a few places in the remaining districts of the State on Monday.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of light rain/thundershowers are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, Pauri and Lansdowne witnessed moderate rain on Sunday with 61 millimetres and 23 millimetres of rain respectively. There was 12 millimetres of rain in Jankichatti and 0.2 millimetre in Dehradun. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State were 34.4 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36 degrees Celsius and 25.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.2 degrees Celsius and 15.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26 degrees Celsius and 18.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
