DM announces magisterial inquiry into accident that killed 6 youths

Following a tragic accident near ONGC intersection in the wee hours of Tuesday that claimed six lives, Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal has announced a magisterial inquiry to determine the cause of the incident and prevent similar mishaps in the future. Bansal stated that a committee comprising officers from relevant departments including Transport and Police, has been established to investigate the case thoroughly and submit a report on their findings.
Expressing sorrow over the loss of lives, he said that the administration is in deep shock and grief over the incident. He assured that the administration will take all necessary measures to prevent such accidents from happening again.
Further, the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh informed that the only living victim of the accident Siddhesh Agarwal (25), who sustained serious injuries in the accident, has been responding well to treatment. “He had a major surgery on Wednesday due to severe damage to his head and face. He is recovering well as per the doctors considering his severe injuries. The police will talk to him only after his health gets stable,” he added.
