The chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the new building of the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khatima constructed at the cost of Rs 26.23 crore. He also planted saplings in its premises. Notably, the KV has been operating since 2019 from a temporary building.
Addressing the inauguration programme, he said that a new era of knowledge and science had been ushered in Khatima in the form of the inauguration of this school in 2019 when he was an MLA. “The KV education proves useful for the children of our army, paramilitary forces and all those who keep getting transferred to different parts of the country. If there had been a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Khatima during my student life, I perhaps would not have to go out of Khatima for education,” he added.
He also spoke glowingly of comprehensive education reforms brought about through the National Education Policy 2020. “Thanks to it, children are getting employment- oriented education. Besides, it is helping them crack competitive examinations easily,” Dhami added.
