State to get hotter today, cooler days to follow

The State Meteorological Centre forecast on Tuesday that the maximum temperature is likely to rise by one to two degrees Celsius during the next 24 hours in the State. However, the maximum temperature is likely to fall by two to four degrees Celsius during the subsequent two to three days thereafter.
During the past 24 hours, the maximum temperatures remained above normal to appreciably above
normal in the plains and below normal to above normal in the mountainous regions.
The State is forecast to witness light to moderate rain/thunderstorms likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Dehradun and Tehri districts on Wednesday. Light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining mountainous areas while dry weather is likely to prevail in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with light rain/thunderstorms likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 38 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Light to moderate rain was reported in various parts with 19 millimetres in Ukhimath, 8.5 millimetres in Gauchar, eight millimetres in Rudraprayag, seven millimetres in Budha Kedar, 2.5 millimetres in Karnprayag and a millimetre each in Pokhari and Almora.
