The Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed that the Congress rally in Haldwani addressed by its national president Mallikarjun Kharge was a flop event. BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the Congress had chosen a venue where the crowd could gather, despite which its intentions failed. “The Congress which raises hue and cry over paper leaks needs to return towards reality. Re-examinations were conducted with transparency whenever paper leaks came to light. When it comes to Uttarakhand, the scams in recruitment of Patwaris and Darogas started when the Congress was in power. The task of selling government jobs in departments also started under Congress rule. This is why the State government under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami brought a strict anti-copying law which is being used as an example by other States,” he said.
Bhatt said that before teaching patriotism to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the Congress should understand that the freedom movement was not fought by the Congress alone, as the whole nation had struggled unitedly for independence. The RSS worked to unite the nation while the Congress continued to search for political opportunities. The BJP is spending much time and effort to correct past errors of the Congress, he said.
“All the claims of the Congress are far from the ground reality just like its claim of 2.5 lakh registrations for Rahul Gandhi’s Dehradun rally. The Congress is trying to misguide the youth but should also check the recruitment data. More than 40,000 youth have received government jobs under the Dhami government. The Congress has no moral right to talk on corruption because it was due to this factor that the party was voted out of power in Uttarakhand,” the BJP State president added.
