IMA passing out parade to be held on June 11

The Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun is preparing itself for the passing out parade (PoP) of spring term -2022 which will be held on June 11. In the parade 377 Gentlemen Cadets (GCs), including 69 foreign cadets would pass out from the portals of the academy. The passing out contingent of GCs would be commissioned in the Indian Army and armies of friendly foreign countries.
The ceremonies associated with the Passing Out Parade will commence on June 10, with a solemn wreath laying ceremony where homage will be paid to the brave alumni of the academy, 898 of whom have made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.
A communiqué from the IMA Dehradun said, “The passing out parade will be held on June 11 in the backdrop of the famous Chetwode Building. Band symphony and multi activity display are also part of the events being showcased during the POP- ST-22. The parents and the family members of the Passing out Gentleman Cadets shall be attending the events and also solemnize the pipping ceremony albeit with strict enforcement of all COVID protocols.’’
A total of 61044 Indian Gentleman Cadets (GCs) and 2724 Foreign GCs from 33 friendly foreign countries have been trained and commissioned as proud Army officers from the portals of IMA since it was commissioned in 1932.
“The academy has been pursuing a visionary transformation of its curriculum, training methodology and infrastructure towards preparing the young military leaders for the complexities of the future battlefield,’’ the communiqué said.
