Anganwadi workers boycott Poshan tracker

Anganwadi workers in Uttarakhand have stopped engaging with the Poshan Tracker app, protesting against what they allege maltreatment they received from administration during their recent rally. The president of the Anganwadi Workers Association, Rekha Negi informed that under the banner of the Anganwadi Workers/Sevika/mini Karmachari Sangathan Uttarakhand, a State-level rally was organised on March 14, 2026. This rally aimed to address various demands. She claimed that they were mishandled by authorities during the rally when they were trying to submit a memorandum to the chief minister.
Negi explained that during the rally, the administration intervened, preventing the workers from proceeding and forcibly loading them into vehicles, an action that Anganwadi workers deemed shameful and reprehensible. She highlighted that this has caused significant anger among them.
As a consequence of the government’s actions, the workers declared that they will not perform any tasks related to the Poshan tracker and will only sit at their centres, remaining present but inactive. They stated that they will not log on to the tracker until the government increases their honorarium. Further, since the department has asked them to call via mobile and not in a register, the workers have no funds for mobile recharges or for the preparation of food. Consequently, all Anganwadi workers have initiated a pen-down strike, Negi stated.
