Bulldozer action in Vikasnagar against illegal encroachments

Action was taken against illegal encroachments in Vikasnagar area of Dehradun on Sunday. A major drive has been launched to remove illegal occupations from government land, creating panic among encroachers.
The Tehsil administration identified a total of 111 illegal encroachments in Dakpatthar, Nawabgarh, Bheemawala, Dhakrani, Dhalipur and Kulhal areas. From Sunday morning, bulldozers began demolishing these structures. UJVNL land occupied by lawyers’ chambers, temporary constructions by villagers, and several illegally built houses are being removed as part of the drive.
The entire operation is being carried out under the supervision of the Vikasnagar sub divisional magistrate and the superintendent of police (Rural), who were also present on the spot since morning. The action is moving forward at a steady pace.
SDM Vinod Kumar said that, on the directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the campaign to free government land from illegal possession is being run consiatently. Similar action will continue in the coming days as well, he added.
