Dhami exhorts public to use local products to light up Deepawali

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has appealed to the people to light up their homes with local products this Deepawali. He said that the artisans of Uttarakhand have a rich tradition and are very skilled. The earthen lamps, handmade decorative items, organic products and edible items are not only popular locally but are also gaining recognition nationally and internationally. He said that use of local products will help the cause of the Swadeshi call given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“By embracing PM Modi’s mantra of Vocal for Local and Swadeshi we can all contribute to the fulfilment of the resolve of a self-reliant India by promoting local products as much as possible,” he said.
The CM extended his greetings to the people of the State on Dhanteras, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhaiya Dooj. Wishing people happiness, peace and prosperity, the CM said that Dhanteras is a festival dedicated to the worship of Lord Dhanvantari, the God of health. He said that Deepawali is a symbol of happiness, prosperity and affluence.
The CM wished that this festival of light brings wealth, prosperity, fame, wealth, and prosperity to the people of the State. He said that Deepawali also conveys the message of truth, goodwill, and dignity. “Deepawali is associated with Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. It also symbolises the victory of good over evil and light over darkness,’’ he said.
Dhami said that Govardhan Puja symbolises the preservation of the economic and cultural resources of society and the country. Extending his greetings to the people of the state, especially women, on the auspicious occasion of Bhaiya Dooj, the CM said that this festival demonstrates the mutual love between brothers and sisters, respect for the mother power, and her importance in the family and society.
