Governor, CM greet people on 25th Foundation Day

The governor, lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami have congratulated the people of the state on its 25th Foundation Day.
In his message, the governor said that the journey of 25 years of the State is the journey of commitment, hard work and success. He said that in these 25 years the State has achieved new heights of growth in economy, infrastructure development and welfare.
In his message, Dhami paid tributes to martyrs of the statehood movement and remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who created Uttarakhand. He said that in the last 25 years Uttarakhand has made historic progress in areas such as economy, infrastructure, social harmony, and cultural preservation. In these years, the State’s economy has grown 26 times, per capita income increased by 18 times and the budget has increased by more than 20 times. By becoming the first state to implement a Uniform Civil Code, Uttarakhand has once again underscored its special role.
He said that PM Narendra Modi has immense spiritual affection for Uttarakhand and its people.
The CM said that public service, good governance, sensitivity and welfare of the poor are the goals of the government. “It is our resolve that Uttarakhand should successfully establish itself as a leading state in the country by the end of the Silver Jubilee year 2025. We are committed to fulfilling this unopposed resolution with full dedication,’’ he said.
