Man held for posting bomb threats targeting Uttarakhand police stations

Dehradun police arrested a 26-year-old man on Monday for allegedly posting bomb threats against all police stations in Uttarakhand on social media.
The accused, identified as Jaspreet Singh, a resident of Ambala in Haryana, was arrested by the Kotwali Nagar police following a detailed cyber investigation.
Superintendent of Police (City) Pramod Kumar said the accused had uploaded threatening messages on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, claiming that bombs would be detonated at all police stations across the State.
Acting on the threats, the police launched an investigation and tracked down the accused through technical surveillance. A case has been registered against him under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology (IT) Act. Further investigation is underway.
