85 % mapping of voters done in U’khand under Pre SIR activity

The Election Commission of India has completed mapping of 85 per cent of the voters in Uttarakhand. The mapping of the voters in the State is currently underway as part of the Pre Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. The additional chief electoral officer (ACEO), Vijay Kumar Jogdande told media persons here on Friday that the commission will now undertake an intensive door to door mapping campaign of the voters in the State from April 1.  He said that the special focus of the campaign will be on the booths where relatively less mapping of the voters has so far been done. The ACEO further informed that as per the orders of the Election Commission of India, a list of Absent, Shifted and Dead (ASD) voters is being prepared in every booth of the State so that the work of purification of the electoral rolls can be done efficiently. He informed that the ECI has started a ‘book a call with BLO’ facility with the help of which the voters can book a call with the BLO of their area. 

  The data of the commission shows that mapping of only 75.09 per cent of the electorate is done in the provisional State capital Dehradun. Similarly, 77.92 and  87.98 per cent mapping is done so far in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar district respectively.

In Bageshwar, 98.76 per cent mapping is done while 93.54 per cent mapping is done in Almora.  The status of other districts is Champawat ( 93.07 per cent) Uttarkashi ( 92.53), Rudraprayag ( 92.37 per cent), Pithoragarh ( 91.23), Tehri Garhwal ( 90.89 per cent), Chamoli ( 90.31 per cent) Nainital ( 88.82 per cent) and Pauri ( 88.48 per cent).
