Inclement weather forecast in parts of State today

Doon likely to have light rain/thundershowers in evening

After a spell of sunny days the weather is likely to take a turn in the state on Tuesday. While some mountainous regions received snowfall on Sunday, the State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with hail / lightning at isolated places in the state. Further, gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places in the plains of the state today. Apart from this, the meteorological centre has forecast light to moderate rainfall / thunderstorm / snowfall at a few places in districts of Garhwal region along with Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts of Kumaon region on Tuesday. Very light to light rainfall / thunderstorm is also likely to occur at isolated places in remaining parts of the Kumaon region while snowfall is likely to occur at places located at altitudes of 3,500 metres and above. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly cloudy sky with the possibility of light rain/thundershowers in some areas towards evening/night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 26 degrees Celsius and eight degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the state on Monday were 24.9 degrees Celsius and 7.5 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 23.8 degrees Celsius and 4.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 13.4 degrees Celsius and 0.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 14.2 degrees Celsius and 1.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
