Man caught with ganja worth Rs two lakh

Continuing its campaign against narcotics, the police here arrested a man with about 44 kilogrammes of ganja. The police informed that under the State government’s ‘drug-free Uttarakhand’ campaign, the police intercepted a vehicle coming from the Maldhan area and a search of the vehicle resulted in recovery of 44 kilogrammes of cannabis. The accused, identified as Kaladhungi resident Kishan Chandra Joshi, was taken into custody. Police officials stated that the seized cannabis is estimated to be worth over Rs two lakh in the market.
