With court’s permission, liquor seized over 6 years  destroyed

Purola police, while taking action for legal disposal of the cases related to Excise Act and other pending cases, destroyed the seized illegal liquor and other materials after getting permission from the court. 

Notably, all station in-charges had been instructed during the monthly crime review meeting chaired by the superintendent of police Kamlesh Upadhyay to expedite the disposal of the pending cases.  The drive was carried out under the direct supervision of a committee consisting of the sub-divisional magistrate, Purola; deputy superintendent of police, Barkot and the station house officer, Purola.

The DSP, Barkot, Chanchal Sharma stated that a large quantity of foreign liquor, raw liquor and other materials seized under the Excise Act and other cases between 2019 and 2025 had been duly disposed of. “The entire destruction process was carried out in accordance with court directives and legal provisions,” he added.
