The Uttarakhand Vidyalaya Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) has instructed the chief education officers (CEOs) of each district to ensure that the board examinations for classes X and XII are conducted in a fair and transparent manner. The examinations will begin on February 21 and conclude on March 20.
Secretary of UVSP, Vinod Simalti informed that all arrangements have been finalised. Examination materials, including the question papers have been distributed to the CEOs, who will subsequently provide these materials to the designated centres for the examinations. Simalti emphasised that the CEOs are directed to double-lock the question papers and ensure the examinations are conducted fairly. Strict action will be taken against anyone caught cheating during the examination.
In addition to this, measures for safety and oversight during the examinations have been established. For this, meetings have been conducted with district magistrates and senior superintendents of police from all districts. He further informed that there will be a total of 2,16,099 candidates participating in the board examinations this year. A total of 1,12,266 students are set to appear for the Class X examination, comprising 1,10,544 institutional students and 1,722 private students. Apart from this, an additional 384 students will also appear in the examination taking it as the improvement examination 2025.
For Class XII, there are 1,02,986 candidates, including 99,349 institutional students and 3,637 private students. Apart from this, 463 students are also appearing in the said examination as the improvement examination (2025). Simalti further said that these candidates will be accommodated across 1,261 examination centres, which consist of 50 single centres and 1,211 mixed centres. Tehri district has the highest number of examination centres at 136, while Champawat district has the fewest, with only 44 centres.
