UKD to lead agitation for domicile and land law, Todaria appointed head of cell

The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) has adopted an aggressive stance on the issue of domicile and land laws, announcing that it will take the movement to the people under its banner. The party has also constituted a dedicated Domicile and Land Law Cell to intensify the agitation.

UKD central president Surendra Kukreti has appointed Lushun Todaria as the president of the newly formed cell. Todaria has been actively associated with the domicile and land law movement in the state.

The announcement was made during a Press conference addressed by the party’s central vice presidents Sunil Kotnala and Shanti Prasad Bhatt here on Saturday. Kotnala said that UKD has consistently maintained a clear stand on domicile and land laws and will now intensify the struggle through this dedicated cell. Bhatt added that the party is providing leadership to youth movements across the State and will now pursue the issue with an all-out strategy. Expressing gratitude, Todaria said that UKD has been fighting for land protection and domicile rights since the statehood movement. He termed the formation of the cell as a reflection of the party leadership’s commitment. He also stressed that the movement should now be fought politically, especially with Assembly elections approaching and announced plans to expand the cell’s executive body and mobilise people across the state.The party’s OBC cell central president Pankaj Painyuli, Mahanagar youth wing president Jatin Chauhan, Pauri acting president Dipti Dudhpuri and others were also present on the occasion.
